Joan Silber is the author of five books of fiction, including Household Words, winner of a PEN/Hemingway Award, and Ideas Of Heaven: A Ring Of Stories, a Finalist for the 2004 National Book Award. Her stories have appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review and elsewhere.
